Randall V. "Randy" Beck

          Randall V. “Randy” Beck, 78, a resident of Davenport, died Thursday, December 15, 2022 at Genesis Medical Center, East Rusholme in Davenport.

          Funeral services and Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 21, 2022 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Davenport. Burial will be at Rock Island National Cemetery. A prayer service will be held at  3:30 p.m. with visitation following from 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 20^th at Halligan McCabe DeVries Funeral Home in Davenport. Memorials may be made to Holy Family Catholic Church.

          Randy was born July 28, 1944 in Clinton, Iowa, the son of Vincent Paul and Camilla Mae (Peterson) Beck. Randy served his country in the United States Navy from 1962-1965. He married Mary Kathryn Green, June 21, 1969 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Davenport. She preceded him in death, March 13, 2020.

          Randy was a firefighter for the City of Davenport for 30 years, retiring in 2000. He loved tinkering with cars, most recently restoring a 1950 Chevy Panel Truck. Randy enjoyed all kinds of racing, and in his younger years, bicycling, walking, and running the Bix. He was an avid Iowa Hawkeye football and basketball fan and enjoyed the Chicago Bears and Cubs. He cherished his time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren.

          Those left to honor his memory include his daughters, Lisa (John) Evans of Maple Grove, Minnesota, and Dyan (Joe) Rivard of Long Grove, Iowa; grandchildren, Emily and Ryan Rivard; brother-in-law, Lloyd Penningroth; sister-in-law, Brenda Beck; and many nieces and nephews.

          In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Gary Beck; and sister, Karen Penningroth.
