Obituary

Phillip G. Andresen, 72, of Davenport, passed away September 10, 2026, at UnityPoint Trinity – Rock Island, surrounded by his loved ones. A Visitation to honor him will be held Wednesday, September 16, 2026, from 3:00 – 5:00 pm, with a rosary beginning at 5:00 pm followed by a time of sharing, at the Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, Davenport. Please wear casual attire to honor Phillip. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Kings Harvest No Kill Shelter or ASPCA (American Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals). Phillip donated his baby blue eyes giving another the gift of sight.

Philip Glenn Andresen was born on December 12, 1953, in Davenport, Iowa, the son of Glenn and Dorothy (Fersch) Andresen. He attended Central High School and graduated with the class of 1972. He married Catherine “Cathy” Iannuzzelli on August 22, 1980. They shared more than 46 years together. Phillip worked for 38 years at MWI as a driver supervisor.

Phillip was a simple man. He enjoyed being outside, often fiddling in the yard in the grass or with his gnome statues. Watching the birds in the bird houses brought him great joy. He loved RV camping with his family. You could find him sitting in his reclining chair, watching his beloved Iowa Hawkeyes, Kansas City Chiefs, and NASCAR, with a cold bottle of diet cherry Pepsi in hand. He was an avid collector of flags (including state, country, and military) and invicta watches.

Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Cathy “Ina”, sons: John (Amanda) Andresen, Michael Andresen, and Brian (Lisa) Andresen; grandchildren: Kaitlyn, Austin and Braden; a sister, Joan Porter, and multiple brother and sisters in law, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Mark Andresen.

The family would like to give a special thanks to the UnityPoint wound care team, the surgical ICU team at UnityPoint (Dr. Chaudry and Dr. Sistla) and to Anne Hovey and Cyndi Conklin.
