Margaret Mary “Peggy Foley” Van Camp, 87, a resident of Davenport passed away peacefully Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at the Kahl Home, Davenport. Funeral services and a Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 am Monday, December 4, 2017 at Sacred Heart Cathedral, 422 E. 10th Street, Davenport. Burial will be at the National Cemetery, Rock Island Arsenal, alongside her beloved husband Victor. The family will greet friends Sunday, December 3, 2017 from 1:00 pm until 4:00 pm at the Halligan McCabe DeVries Funeral Home, 614 Main Street, downtown Davenport. There will be a prayer service at 3:30 pm Sunday at the funeral home that all are encouraged to attend. There will be additional visitation Monday in the Gathering Space at the Cathedral from 9:00 am until Mass.

Margaret Mary Foley was born August 10, 1930 to Lawrence J. and Ailleen G. (Barry) Foley in Davenport. She was a lifelong member of Sacred Heart Cathedral of 87 years. Peggy graduated from Davenport High School in 1948. Upon graduation, she became a Northwestern Bell Telephone Operator and Supervisor. Her life carried her to Foley Plumbing and Heating, as a bookkeeper; then to Per Mar Research Services as a market research interviewer.

She was united in marriage to Victor Van Camp on May 14, 1955 at Sacred Heart Cathedral. He preceded her in death on December 5, 1996. She was a dedicated homemaker, wife and mother. Peggy was full of life and enjoyed her favorite holiday, “St. Patrick’s Day “; she was also a member of the Quad Cities St. Patrick’s Society.

Memorial donations and contributions will be accepted in her name for Sacred Heart Cathedral, Quad Cities St. Patrick Society or the Kahl Home.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children, a daughter Deborah MacFaun, Salisbury, North Carolina; sons, Steve (Diane) Van Camp, Omaha, Nebraska, Paul (Pam) Van Camp, Kansas City, Missouri and David Van Camp, Bettendorf, Iowa. Her grandchildren Michael (Cristy) Dickerson, Anchorage, Alaska; Cristy Van Camp, Omaha, Nebraska; Bobby Dickerson, Salisbury, North Carolina; Brittany Van Camp, Lincoln, Nebraska; Brandon Van Camp, Davenport; Lauren (Joe) Suiter, LeClaire, Iowa; Alyson (John) Crump, Davenport, Iowa and Grant Van Camp, Kansas City, Missouri; four great grandchildren, Jacob, Tonya, Nora and Laney; a brother, Larry (Joyce) Foley, Summerfield, Florida, a sister Shelia Johnson, West Des Moines, Iowa; brother-in-law Jack Davies, Bonita Springs, Florida; and sisters-in-law, Patricia Foley, Mary Alyce Cetanyan, and Pat (Mike) Klouda, all of Davenport.

Peggy was preceded by her beloved husband Victor; brothers, Donald Foley and Barry Foley, sisters, Rita Engelmann, Betty Davies and Mary Catherine Foley, brothers-in-law Richard Engelmann, Robert Johnson & Joseph Cetanyan, sister-in-law Bernice Foley.
