Paul Smith

Paul Smith, 79, of Davenport, passed away, Tuesday, August 12, 2025 at MercyOne Medical Center, Davenport.

Per his wishes cremation rites have been accorded.

Paul was born on August 18, 1945 in Monmouth, Illinois, son of Donald and Ethel (Westfield Smith). He was united in marriage to Sandy Osborn in 1969. She preceded him in death.

Paul was a simple man that was full of life and did things his way. He had lots of love to give and would go out of his way to help others. He was a hard worker and was known for his one liners and his nicknames for everyone. Paul enjoyed wrestling, NASCAR, Elvis, John Wayne and rides through Scott County Park. He also found joy in kittens and word searches. He was also an avid Green Bay Packers and Iowa Hawkeye fan. Above all he loved his grandchildren and cherished the time he spent with them.

Those left to honor his memory include his daughter Rennie Bradley; grandchildren Tim Bradley, Jessica Bradley, Kiaya Poncy; grandson-in-law Mark Wals; foster son, Richard (Penny Shady) Powell; foster daughters, Valerie Phipps, Robyn Stevens and Stacey Doak; several foster grandchildren; and cousins, Jack Fullerton, Tony (Paula) Fullerton, Bonnie Fullerton, and Melissha (Tim) Plack.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Melvin Smith, cousin Art Fullerton, grandmother Bernadine Wesfield, grandfather Howard Fullerton and uncle and aunt Orville and Alice.
