Patty Oldsen, 82, of Davenport, passed away on Thursday, September 4, 2025, at Good Samaritan, Davenport, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and bright spirit.

Patricia Charlotte Oldsen was born March 10, 1943, in Calamus, IA, to Harry and Grace (Borman) Oldsen.

Patty was well-known as a cherished member of the Handicapped Development Center, where she spent many happy years surrounded by friends and caring staff. The Center was more than just a place for Patty it was truly her home.

Patty had a love for John Deere tractors. Whether spotting them out in the fields or collecting tractor memorabilia, the green and yellow machines always brought joy. Another source of happiness came from the simple pleasures of Koosh balls, which never failed to keep her entertained.

Anyone who knew Patty also knew about her love for jewelry, especially rings and mood rings. She delighted in showing off the colors that shifted with her touch, a reflection of her colorful personality.

Patty will be remembered most for the joy she brought to everyone around her. Family, friends, and all who crossed paths with Patty were touched by her lighthearted spirit and unique charm.

Patty is survived by nieces Patricia M. “Tricia” Oldsen, Jennifer (Scott) Wierson, and Kate Suiter; great nieces and nephews Nathan (Kate) Witherspoon, Jordan “Gordon” Witherspoon, Emily (Mitch) Peterson, Elliott “Bobo” Witherspoon, and Madison Witherspoon.

She was preceded in death by father Harry Oldsen, mother and stepfather Grace and David Cook, brother Charles Oldsen, and sister Mary Hibdon.

The rite of cremation has been accorded, and burial of her ashes will be at a later date.

Memorials may be directed to the Handicapped Development Center, a place that meant so much to Patty.
