He received a Bachelor’s Degree from NE Missouri State University (Truman State University) in Kirksville, Missouri in 1972.
Pat spent his entire working life in the field of Human Resources in both the private sector and Federal sector in several locations including St. Louis, Missouri, Davenport, Iowa, Heidelberg, Germany, and Rock Island, Illinois. He retired in 2006.
Pat enjoyed traveling. He set foot on all seven continents (including overnight camping in Antarctica) and spent time in over 50 different countries for business or pleasure. He was particularly fond of Ireland. He acquired Irish citizenship, and as a dual-citizen spent three months each year in Cork, Ireland during the summer months for his last 15 years.
Other interests included playing golf, following his beloved Chicago White Sox (in spite of them disappointing him for all but one of his 73 years), following Iowa football and basketball, genealogical research, and playing his guitar.
Those left to survive him include his brother, Mike (Peggy) in Ft. Madison, Iowa, his sister, Maureen (John) Stoops in Davenport, Iowa, one niece, two nephews, four grand-nephews, and special friend Debbie Laughlin. His parents preceded him in death.
