Funeral services celebrating the life of Patricia “Pat” Zaerr, 95, of LeClaire, will be held at noon on Friday, November 21, 2025, at the Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, Davenport. Burial will be in Glendale Cemetery, LeClaire. Visitation will be from 11 am until time of services. Memorials may be made to Hospice Compassus.
Mrs. Zaerr passed away on Monday, November 17, 2025, at the Kahl Home, Davenport.
Patricia Jean Kernan was born June 17, 1930, in Cleveland, OH, to Frank and Phyllis “Mimi” (Merriman) Kernan. She was united in marriage to Rudy Hughes and later to Basil “B.J.” Zaerr on November 9, 1963, in Fulton, IL. B.J. preceded her in death on March 16, 1998.
Prior to her retirement, Pat had worked as a display artist for American Greetings.
She treasured her time spent camping and fishing and was a longtime member of the QC Bass Club. Additionally, she enjoyed dancing, listening to the music of Michael Bublé, and cheering for both the Chicago Cubs and the Iowa Hawkeyes. She cherished happy hour gatherings and the time spent in fellowship with those she cared about.
Her devotion to animals was a defining aspect of her life, and her dogs brought her great comfort and companionship, particularly her beloved white lab, Misty.
She had been a member of Our Lady of the River Catholic Church.
Survivors include her children Debbie (Patrick) Dalee of Ventura, CA, Gary (Caroline) Hughes of Bettendorf, Mark (Carol) Hughes of Davenport; 13 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; a great great granddaughter; brother Mike (Coky) Powers of Davenport; and many nieces and nephews.
Additionally, she was preceded in death by her daughter Christine Gahagan, sister Adele Carlson, brother Dennis Powers, father Frank Kernan, and mother and stepfather Mimi and Loras Powers.
