She worked for Sheaffer Pen Company in Fort Madison, Iowa, as a young lady. She was united in marriage to Darrell Maring on July 6, 1958, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in West Point. Patricia also loved to travel, finding great joy in visiting the villages of her ancestors in Germany and France. In quieter moments, she enjoyed knitting and crocheting, and she was an avid bowler for more than 50 years.
Those left to honor her memory are her children: Steve (Chris) Maring, Columbia, Missouri, Carol (Helmut) Hiegelsberger, St. Gilgen, Salzburg, Austria, and Greg (Melissa) Maring, Reynolds, Illinois, as well as eight grandchildren, and a brother and sister-in-law, Ed (Georgia) Merschman.
In addition to her husband, Darrell, she was preceded in death by her son, Jeff, and an infant son, Billy, her parents, a sister and brother-in-law, Audrey (Jim) Slee. May they rest in eternal peace.
