Pamela Ann Josephson was born on January 7, 1949 in Ft. Dodge, Iowa, a daughter of Robert David and Lois Ann (Nellis) Josephson. She graduated from Ft. Dodge Senior High School in 1967 and later went on to earn her Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) certification and later became a Registered Nurse (RN). Pam married Alan Grimsman on May 2, 1970 in Ft. Dodge. She later was united in marriage to Gregory L. Van Stechelman on May 30, 1993.

Pam’s nursing journey in the Quad Cities started in 1980 at the former St. Luke’s Hospital. She also helped to establish the first John Deere Clinic and worked at the Kahl Home. She retired from the Edgerton Women’s Clinic.

Pam was able to realize her dream of retiring to Florida for 13 years before her health journey brought her back to the Quad Cities to be around family. She and Greg also had lived in Charleston, South Carolina, where Pam immersed herself into the culture and architecture of that historic city.

Pam enjoyed reading, collecting Precious Moments, and had a great love of flowers, earning Master Gardner certification while in South Carolina. She loved music; singing in the choir and playing the piano since she was a young girl, some of Pam’s favorite musicians were Michael Buble and Michael W. Smith. She was also a talented seamstress, making Carrie many of her clothes while she was a young girl. Pam adored her granddaughters, and enjoyed every minute spent with them.

Those left to cherish Pam’s memory are her husband, Greg; daughter and son-in-law, Carrie and George Menke; granddaughters, Brooke and Camryn Menke; a brother, Larry Josephson, Webster City, Iowa, a niece, Tami (Josephson) Stinson, Sun Prairie, Wisconsin; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Jim and Lorna Van Stechelman, Plainfield, Illinois; and sisters-in-law, Heather (Jason) Lazzara, Elmhurst, Illinois and Holly (Andy) Matznick, Chandler, Arizona.
