Pamela Kay (Jones) Garnica, 71, of Davenport, passed away peacefully at her home on October 28, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.
A celebration of Pamela’s life will be held from 1-3 p.m. on Monday, November 9, 2026, at the Buffalo Community Center, 426 Clark St, Buffalo, IA.
Pamela was born on October 16, 1955, in Davenport, the daughter of Joe Jones and Wanda (Heim) Heim. Though her biological father passed away when she was young, she was raised and deeply loved by her step-father, Ray Heim. She went on to marry the love of her life, Gregory Paul Garnica, on August 24, 1973. Together, they shared over 53 years of marriage and were blessed with three daughters.
A dedicated and hard worker, Pamela spent 20 years faces and friends at Eagle Food Centers. She later brought her warm personality to Slaby's Bar and Restaurant in Plainview, where she not only worked but formed a tight-knit circle of cherished friends.
Pamela lived life through simple pleasures. She loved getting her nails done, grabbing lunch with her "Slaby besties," and sharing laughs over margaritas with her dear friend Rhonda and her beloved cousin Kim.
An avid reader, she was rarely seen without her Kindle. She also possessed a vibrant green thumb; though gardening became harder over the years, her beautiful flowers were famously known and admired by all of her family and friends. Above all else, Pamela adored her family and cherished every moment spent gathered together, especially when she was hanging out with her grandchildren.
Those left to honor her memory include her loving husband, Gregory; her daughters, Jennifer (Tate) Gradin, Jessica (Townzell) Nicholson, and Joleen Garnica (Eddy Williams); her step-son, Kaleb (Dyani) Garnica; her beloved grandchildren, Chanslor, Chase, Aereana, Aubrey, Eddy, Jason, and Mason; and her precious great-grandchildren, Rashaad and Raleigh. She is also survived by her siblings, Dolores Johnson, Sheila (Tom) Walsh, and Raymond (Leslie) Heim; and her siblings-in-law, Ken (Karen) Garnica, Jeff (Barb) Garnica, Carl Garnica, Lisa Garnica, Marcie (Scott) Booth, and Mike (Tonya) Garnica.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe Jones, and Ray and Wanda Heim; her grandson, Townzell Nicholson Jr.; her brother-in-law, Mark Garnica; and her sister-in-law, Gabriela Shepard.
