A Memorial Service to celebrate the life of Pamela J. Campbell, 60, of Davenport, will be 6 p.m. Friday, May 5, 2023 at the Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, Davenport. Visitation will be held from 4 until 6 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to King’s Harvest Pet Rescue. Pam died peacefully Saturday, April 29, 2023 at her home surrounded by family following an 18 year courageous battle with breast cancer.

Pamela Jill Ward was born on September 24, 1962 in Davenport, a daughter of Harley and Blondena “Dena” (Cowell) Ward.  She was married to Mark Shreve on April 20, 1985, and they later divorced. From this union came four children: Mathew, Mallory, Amanda, and Abbie.  Pam loved being a mother to her kids and loved even more being a grandmother and great-grandmother to Jeremiah and Jermani.  She was affectionately known as “Grandma Pam” to the families of her children’s friends!

Pam worked at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House as an aide until her cancer started to overcome her strength. She was proud of her work and was honored to help her patients at the end of their lives.

Pam was fun-loving and loved to laugh.  She adored kids and animals and was an avid fan of the Green Bay Packers, Iowa Hawkeyes, and St. Louis Cardinals.  Pam enjoyed reading.

Pam is survived  by her children: Mathew Shreve, Waterloo, Mallory (Steven Barnhart) Shreve, Amanda Shreve, and Abbie (Patrick Neuhaus) Shreve, Davenport; grandson, Jeremiah Shreve, and great-grandson, Jermani Shreve-Harris; her father, Harley Ward, Park View, siblings: John “Mike” (Rose) Davis, Danville, Linda (Robert) Haymaker, Mercer, Missouri, Jack Davis, DeWitt, and Allan (Wanda) Ward, Park View, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother and a brother, Ted Ward.

The family would like to thank Iowa Cancer Specialists, The University of Iowa, and Genesis Hospice for the kind, compassionate care they provided to Pam.
