Odie Kirk

Funeral services to celebrate the life of Odie R. Kirk, 56, a resident of Knoxville formerly of Davenport, will be 1:00pm Friday, December 17, 2021, at the Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, downtown Davenport. Pine Hill Cemetery, Davenport.  The family will greet friends prior to the service from 11:00am until 1:00pm at the funeral home. Honoring his wishes the rite of cremation will be accorded following services.

Memorials may be made to his family.  Odie passed away Monday, December 6, 2021, at C.H.I. Health. Bergan Mercy Medical Center, Omaha, Nebraska.

Odie Reed Kirk was born December 26, 1964, in Preston, Mississippi, a son of James Harrison Sherrod and Louise (Needham) Kirk.  Odie had worked for the former Jumer’s Castle Lodge. Odie enjoyed listening to old school music, eating, and telling family and friends his piece of mind.

Those left to honor Odie’ s memory include his siblings:  Ella (Samuel) Davis, Maxine Kirk, and Linda Allen-Kirk, all of Davenport and Willie “Peter” Burrage, Preston, MS; as well as numerous loving nieces, nephews, extended family and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings:  Eva Louise Harrington, Eloise Coleman, Johnnie Pearl Hill, Sylvester Kirk, Charles Kirk and Clemme Kirk, Sr.
