Nick Sowells

Nicholas A. Sowells, 43, of Buffalo, died unexpectedly Tuesday, September 16, 2025 at Trinity – Rock Island.

Services to celebrate Nick’s life will be held at a later date at Legacy Church, Davenport. Memorials may be made to Buffalo Volunteer Fireman’s Association.

Nicholas Andrew Sowells was born on April 16, 1982 in Davenport, a son of Ronald Gene and Lynnette (Huntington) Sowells. He graduated from Quint City Baptist School. Nick worked over 20 years for American Industrial Door.

Nick was deeply devoted to the City of Buffalo where he served on the former Buffalo Volunteer Ambulance service as well as a proud and dedicated member of the Buffalo Volunteer Fire Department.

Nick enjoyed the outdoors, especially when he was hunting and fishing, spending days in Minnesota at his favorite honey hole.

Those left to honor his memory are his mother, Lynnette; siblings: Adam (Shelly) Sowells, David Sowells, and Theresa Sowells; nieces and nephews, Melanie (Will) Kruse, Mackenzie Holmes-Boos, Robert Sowells; great nephews and nieces, Noah, Mason, Mia, and Aubri; grandmother, Ronalee Huntington; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
