Nancy S. Ridenour, 76, of Davenport, died unexpectedly Sunday, June 16, 2025, in Davenport.
Funeral Services and Mass of Catholic Burial for Nancy will be celebrated at St. Paul The Apostle Church on Friday, June 20, 2025. Visitation will be at 10 a.m. in the gathering space. Funeral services will be immediately following at 11 a.m. Burial will be at Davenport Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Friends of Vander Veer Park. Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Nancy Suzanne Manning was born on April 18, 1949, in Davenport, a daughter of Thomas H. and Margaret E. (Elvidge) Manning. She graduated from Davenport Central High School. Nancy was married to Gary Lee Richards and from this marriage they had two children: Gary and Amber. She later was united in marriage Clair Ridenour on November 24, 1995, in Davenport. He preceded her in death on December 29, 2024.
Nancy worked as an assembler at Eagle Signal, owned the Cedar Street Inn for over a decade, worked as a realtor for Grampp Realty and later worked as a dental assistant.
Her life was centered around her family; she especially had a great love of spending time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed gardening, boating, fishing, and was an avid reader. Nancy also enjoyed lunch and shopping with her best friend, Bettie Stillwagon.
Those left to honor Nancy’s memory are her children and grandchildren: Gary (Jeanne) Richards, and their sons, Bobby and Danny, and Amber (Todd) Ehrecke and children Parker and Avalon; siblings: Thomas Manning, Marcia Wilson, and Ronald Manning; nephews: Christopher (Susie) Manning and Anthony (Christine) Manning; and a niece, Caitlin Wilson.
In addition to her husband, Clair, she was preceded in death by her parents. May they rest in peace.
