Nancy Maurene Justus

Nancy Maurene Justus, 85, passed away peacefully on February 5, 2026, at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria, Illinois, surrounded by the love of her family. Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m. February 14, 2026, at the Christian Center Church, Davenport. Visitation will be held one hour before the Service at the Christian Center Church.

Born July 20, 1940, in Iowa City to Roy and Alberta Ruge, Nancy married Elmer Justus in 1966. Together, they built a 60-year marriage defined by deep devotion and mutual respect.

Nancy spent her career as a nursing home housekeeper, where her nurturing spirit and sharp sense of humor brightened the lives of residents and coworkers alike. A dedicated member of the Christian Center Church, her faith and her family were the heart of her life. She was a beloved figure known for her welcoming personality and the joy she found in bringing generations of her family together.

She leaves behind a legacy of generosity, laughter, and love that will endure in the hearts of all who knew her.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Elmer Justus; her children, Laurie (Bruce) Norris, Donna Ray Sims, Eugene (Ruth) Justus, Debbie Lynn Justus, Maria (Ralpha) Ponce, and Elmer Jr. Justus "Boy"; son-in-law Phil Rundell; her siblings, Patti (Dick) White and Bill Ruge; many nieces and nephews; and other loving family members.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Alberta; siblings Darlene Gifford, Sandy Lopen, Wayne Ruge, and Michael Ruge; and her children Joann Rundell and Wayne Justus.
