Norman Michael Landauer was born on October 15, 1956, in Davenport, a son of Alan and Marlene (Hackner) Landauer. Mick was born with a congenital heart defect and endured many surgeries during his lifetime, but this didn’t stop him from living a full, purposeful life. He graduated from the University of Iowa with a business degree in 1979.
Mick, alongside his brother, Todd, started a Meineke franchise in 1978 in the Quad Cities, which later they transitioned into their own business, BiState Auto Service Center. Mick sold the business in 2010 after 32 years of service. Mick also worked part-time at the Putnam Museum and Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, however, his favorite “job” was working as a crossing guard for the City of Bettendorf. He loved interacting with the children of Hopewell Elementary on a daily basis.
Mick enjoyed summers at the Landauer family cabin in Canada where they enjoyed long days of fishing. He also enjoyed playing in regular poker games.
Mick is survived by his siblings: Steve Landauer (Kelly Lonning Bjore) LeClaire, Todd (Ann) Landauer, Bettendorf, and Julie (Bob) Negus, Omaha, Nebraska as well as several beloved nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
