Mike Petersen

Michael D. Petersen, 72, of Davenport, passed away Thursday, June 13, 2024 at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.

 A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Cremation rites have been accorded. Memorials may be made to the Q.C. Veterans Outreach Center. 

 Mike was born on October 15, 1951 in Iowa. His parents were John and Joann (Owens) Seals. He was united in marriage to Teresa Kelley on July 25, 1975. 

 Mike was a proud Vietnam Veteran and Purple Heart recipient. During his career, he deployed to various theaters of combat both as a GI and as a civilian. He served with the 135th Assault Helicopter Co. as a door gunner. He then went on to develop and work on weapon systems used today. Mike was a very proud supporter of the troops. He was also a jack of all trades. He found joy in airplanes, having owned them, and skydiving from them many, many times. Above all he loved his family and cherished the time spent with them. 

 Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Teresa; children Kristi (Eric) Miller and Derek Petersen; granddaughter Bailey Miller; and brother Bill (Liane) Seals. 

 He was preceded in death by his parents.
