Michael Wayne Scheel

Michael Wayne Scheel, 72, of Davenport, passed away on January 22, 2026, at MercyOne-Genesis Medical Center, Davenport. Per his wishes, cremation has taken place. Burial will take place at Rock Island National Cemetery at a later date.

Michael was born on June 27, 1953, in Davenport, a son of Wayne and Dorothy (Hendricksen) Scheel. After graduating from West High School, he enlisted in the Marine Corps and served for four years. Michael worked as a security guard for Per Mar at John Deere. You could always find him reading a book, toying with a ham radio, or enjoying something Sci-Fi related.

Those left to cherish his memory are his brother, Rick (Robi) Scheel; sister, Kathryn Harrell; stepbrother, Mike Everetts; many nieces and nephews; and a special friend and caretaker, Marjorie Koberg.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Brian and Bruce Scheel.
