Mary L. Schulte

Mary L. Schulte, 73, of Davenport, passed away, Wednesday, April 3, 2024 at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House.  

 Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, April 8, 2024 at 10:30 am and Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church.  Visitation will be held from 2:00-4:00 pm, Sunday, April 7, 2024 at Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home.  Additional visitation will be held from 9:30 until the time of Mass on Monday at church.   Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.  

 Mary was born on December 14, 1950 in Waukon, Iowa, daughter of George and Alice (Howes) Connor.  She was united in marriage to Steve Schulte on July 3, 1971.

 Mary had worked as a lithographer for Bawden Printing for almost 30 years.  She was a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church for over 50 years.  She found great joy in landscaping and gardening. Her favorite hobby was making beautiful quilts for many family members.  She especially loved making baby quilts for every baby in the family. Above all she loved her family and was very involved with her grandchildren, rarely missing an event to show her love and support.

 Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Steve; children Chris (Jennifer) Schulte and Jill (Stacy) Swim; grandchildren Connor and Karson Swim and Lauren and Emma Schulte; siblings Kay Ollendick, Dan Connor, Jim (Gail) Connor, Rich (Traci) Connor and Ellen (Stan) Herman; and many in-laws on the Schulte side. 

 She was preceded in death by her parents, her in-laws, Ben and Virginia Schulte, and brother-in-law Don Ollendick.
