Mary Kathryn Buerklin

   Mary (Critser) Buerklin, age 91, of Davenport, passed away on Friday, November 17, 2023, at her home surrounded by her family. Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday, November 25, 2023, at New Life Baptist Church, Davenport. The family will greet friends from 11:00 to 1:00 prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in Fairmount Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family.

   MaryKathryn Critser was born on January 23, 1932, in Keokuk to William and Nora (Haage) Critser, the oldest of two siblings. She grew up in Keokuk, graduating from Keokuk High School in 1950. She met her one and only love of her life, Dewey Buerklin in 1948, and they were married on January 27, 1951. After having two children, the family moved to Davenport where they welcomed two more children.

   Mary is survived by her daughters, Nora (Rex) Shinn, Nancy Lundy, and Linda Jackson; grandchildren, David, Chrystie, Leanne, Kristine, Jermaine, Mariah, Dylan, and Ryleigh; many great and great-great grandchildren; nieces, and nephews.

   In addition to her parents and husband of 54 years, Mary was preceded in death by a son, William; brother, Bill Jr; and great granddaughter, Corrin Shinn.

   The family would like to thank Unity Point Hospice for the care given to Mary, and support to the family.
