Mary Ann was born on April 26, 1928 in Mapleton, Iowa, daughter of Adolph and Margaret (Flammang) Bolster. She was united in marriage to Kenneth Wilkison on February 10, 1948. He preceded her in death on July 14, 2010.

Mary Ann lived a life dedicated to her family and being a life-long student. She was the first of her family to graduate high school, as a 1946 graduate of Davenport High (now Central High School). Upon the birth of her children, she was a devoted homemaker and stay-at-home mother during the boys’ youngest years. Later she resumed her employment at the telephone company for 30 years prior to her retirement in 1990. She then became a mediator at the Scott County Court House and also tutored at St. Alphonsus Catholic School. She volunteered for many years at the Call For Action Channel 6 News. Mary Ann enjoyed bringing the school kids out to the Pride of the Wapsi for field trips. Highlights of her retirement years include being present at every grandparent’s day, and all of the grandchildren’s extracurricular activities, traveling to see Southwestern sunsets after an archaeological dig, kissing the Blarney Stone, and enjoying the beaches of Mexico and Hawaii. In her spare time she enjoyed knitting and sewing. She will be deeply missed.

Those left to honor her memory include her son, Stuart Wilkison of Le Claire, grandchildren Jim (Dari) Wilkison of Greeneville, TN , Lynn (Cody) Flatt of Bettendorf and Josh (Sheli) Wilkison of Las Vegas, NV; great-grandchildren Brooklynn and Natalie Wilkison, Jack and Peter Flatt; and daughter-in-law Molly Wilkison of Davenport.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Kenneth, eldest son Kenny and all of her siblings: Catherine Dexter VenHorst, Alvera Beckman, Helen Frickel, Frances Paulsen, Theodore Bolster, John Bolster, and William Bolster.
