Mark Koch

Mark Lewis Koch, age 63, died suddenly on August 10, 2025, in Concord, CA. He was born on February 24, 1962, in Davenport, to William Wallace and Alice Elizabeth (Neumann) Koch and was the youngest of six children. Mark grew up with a strong sense of curiosity and determination. A proud graduate of Assumption High School, Class of 1980, he went on to graduate from Hamilton Technical College, which launched his 40-year career in office technology. As a Senior Technical Specialist at Taylor Made Office Systems, IKON, and Ricoh, Mark was known not just for his skill and knowledge, but for his patience, sense of humor, and the friendships he built with coworkers and clients alike.

In 1986, he moved to Concord, CA, where his life truly changed course. While working at Taylor Made, he met his future wife, Pamela Stacy Miller. Their friendship quickly grew into love, and on August 1, 1992, they were married in Lafayette, CA. Their marriage was built on laughter, teamwork, and devotion, and together they shared more than three decades of love and companionship.

After retiring in 2020, Mark discovered a new passion for thrift shopping. He had a knack for finding treasures, from clocks to slot machines to antiques, and spent countless happy hours restoring them to their original beauty. He loved the challenge of bringing things back to life, and his collection became both a hobby and a reflection of his meticulous nature.

He leaves behind not only his carefully restored antiques but also countless memories of love, laughter, and kindness.

Mark is survived by Pam Koch, his loving wife of 33 years, as well as his faithful dog Jack of Concord; brother Bill (Susan Pace-Koch) Koch of Concord; sisters Jill Koch of Davenport and Teresa (James) Boyd of Des Moines; as well as many nieces and nephews and grand-nieces and grand-nephews.

He is preceded in death by his father and mother, William and Alice, as well as brothers, Joe and Steve. There will be a celebration of life on Saturday, September 20th from 12-5 at Dalis Gardens , 3161 Terrazo Del Sol, Concord, CA 94520 and in Iowa on Tuesday, October 14, from 11am – Noon at the Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, Davenport. Inurnment will be in the family lot at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Davenport.
