Mark A. Fick, 73, of Davenport, died Wednesday, June 3, 2026, at his home, with his beloved dogs, Duke and Gracie. Funeral services to celebrate Mark’s life are still pending and will be held at a later date.
Mark Anthony Fick was born on July 3, 1952, in Iowa, a son of Richard H. and Rachel (Almendinger) Fick. He was a graduate of Davenport West High School, graduating in 1970. He was united in marriage to Dorothy “Dee” Glenn in December of 1976. They shared over 50 years together. He was employed at John Deere as a quality engineer.
They lived in their West Davenport home, where Mark and Dee built an addition, a deck, a beautiful gazebo, and a garage, along with a flourishing garden that would become Mark’s favorite place to watch butterflies and hummingbirds.
Mark lived for his kids and grandkids. He was a wonderful dad, grandpa, and papa. Dee was his best friend, and they created a life and family they had always dreamt about. Mark could be found coaching softball and baseball, at band concerts and competitions, and finding a way to be helpful and supportive in any way he could. He loved deeply and with great intention and was a friend to anyone he knew. He was also a lover of nature, dogs, Pabst Blue Ribbon beer, MG cars, and music.
Those left to honor his memory are his loving wife, Dee; daughters, Gretchen Irwin and Amanda (Randy) Cashman; grandchildren, Marcus Cashman, Morgan (Brendan) Knerr, Mackenzie Cashman, and Gabriel Irwin; great-grandson, Lucas Boutelle.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Richard Fick; sister, Mary Ann; and son-in-law, Michael “Mike” Irwin.
