Marilyn Louise Sherbonda

Marilyn Sherbonda, 81, of Davenport, passed away, Thursday, September 11, 2025 at her home.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am, on Wednesday, September 17, 2025 at Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home. The family will greet friends Tuesday, September 16, 2025 from 4:00-6:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the family.

Marilyn Wages was born on February 4, 1944 in Exline, Iowa, the daughter of Roy and Edna Wages. She was united in marriage to Robert Sherbonda in 1965 in Rock Island, Illinois. He preceded her in death on September 30, 2004. She worked for Nichols Aluminum for 26 years.

She enjoyed sewing, making quilts and crafts, and giving most of her work of arts to family and friends. Marilyn also found joy in making wedding cakes and loved cooking. She also loved going to the races to watch her son.

Those left to honor her memory include her son Robert Sherbonda and his significant other Deanna; granddaughter Amanda and her husband Randell; four great grandchildren Kylie, Riley, Payzley and Tinley; brother Lee and Jean Wages of Arkansas; and sister Dianna and Everett Lamb of Davenport, IA.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Sherbonda, six sisters Carletta West, Juanita Carlistrom, Evelyn Henderson, Shirley Herring, Jinnie Weggon, and Eva June, three brothers LaVerne Wages, Gary Wages and Wendell Wages.
