Margo Rushing

Funeral services celebrating the life of Margo L. Rushing, 68, of Rock Island, will be 2pm Saturday, October 30, 2021 at the Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, 614 Main St, Davenport.  Per her request the rite of cremation will follow services.  The family will receive friends from Noon until time of service at the funeral home.  Memorials may be made to the family.

Mrs. Rushing passed away Wednesday, October 20, 2021 at the University of Iowa Hospital, Iowa City.  She was a strong warrior who lost her fight to cancer.

Margo Lee Anderson was born October 16, 1953, in Phoenix, AZ, a daughter of Benjamin Anderson and Edna (Thomas) Walker.  She was united in marriage to Alvin “Al” Rushing on December 6, 1985 in Davenport.

She was a very caring person and family oriented.  She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend, and was protective of those she loved and cared for in her personal life, as well as her professional life, as a Certified Nurse’s Aide. She was truly an Angel on earth. Everyone she met became family and referred to her Mom/Grandma.

Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Al; children Katrina Anderson of Davenport, Roberta Anderson of Davenport, son Christopher Anderson of Rock Island, Shameka Anderson of Las Vegas; grandchildren Gabrielle Anderson, Richard Faust II, Kane Faust, Tré (Lola) Crawford, Devion Tutwiller, Tyréss Clark, Montayvia Lewis, Cierra White, Jonathon Bassett Jr, Leaha Anderson; great grandchildren Jacory Finley, Harmony Cribbs, Sa'Ryiah Finley, Richard Faust III, Avery McCowin, Rameir Faust; siblings Steven, Mary, Tammy, Vauncile “Buffy”, and Susan; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother Edna Walker, father Benjamin (Nancy) Anderson, brothers Ben and Charles "Chuckie", aunt Sally, and mother-in-law Lucille (Willie) Wells and father-in-law Joseph (Alice) Rushing.  May they rest in peace.
