Obituary

Margaret "Marge" C. Sebille, 88, passed away peacefully on June 27, 2026, at Silvercrest at Garner Senior Living in Davenport, with her beloved daughter at her side.

A visitation will be held on Monday, July 6, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, Davenport. A funeral mass will follow the next day, Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at 10:30 AM at Holy Family Church, Davenport. Burial will take place immediately after the mass at Mount Calvary Cemetery, Davenport. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Holy Family Church, All Saints School, Assumption High School, or the Williams Syndrome Association.

Marge was born on September 5, 1937, in Olin, Iowa, to Dennis "Denny" W. and Helen B. (Barrie) Denny. After graduating from the Immaculate Conception Academy, she spent her early career working in finance, at Strieter Motors Lincoln-Mercury Dealership, and at TransAmerica Insurance Company.

On August 31, 1963, she married Albert "Al" P. Sebille at Holy Family Church in Davenport. Together, they were blessed with two daughters. Following her marriage, Marge dedicated herself to raising her family as a homemaker. Later, she partnered with her husband to co-run Al's Tile, managing the financial and documentation side of the business. She took immense pride in their hard work and officially retired on August 15, 2014.

Marge was an incredibly social, active, and community-minded person. A faithful member of Holy Family Church, she also dedicated 18 years of service to both the Women of the Moose and the Does Clubs. She volunteered countless hours as a Girl Scout Leader, a Cancer & Heart Association solicitor, and with the Genesis West (& Mercy) Hospital Auxiliary, Holy Family School, and Assumption High School.

She loved life’s simple pleasures and grand adventures alike. An avid reader and walker, Marge traveled extensively throughout the United States, Canada, Europe, and Ireland. She stayed active with water aerobics and loved visiting her cousins in Cedar Rapids and Indiana. She was a fan of catfish jazz, the Irish Tenors, musicals, and Broadway shows, and frequently went on bus trips.

Marge cherished her social circles, regularly catching up over lunch at Applebee's and Cracker Barrel with her lifelong friends from the Immaculate Conception Academy, as well as her church friends from Our Lady of Victory. Above all, she adored her family. One of her favorite recent memories was spending a special seven weeks living with her granddaughter, Lauren, during the pandemic.

Marge is survived by her beloved daughters, Lynne Sebille-White (Scott White) and Michelle Sebille (Mark Wilson); sister M. Pauline Sparger; sister-in-law Cathy Sebille; granddaughter Lauren White; and many beloved cousins, nieces, and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Al; parents, Dennis and Helen Denny; brother W. George Denny; and Aunt Marguerite Barrie.
