Margaret Irene Eisenbacher, 87, of Davenport, Iowa, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at The Vistas at Bettendorf, with her loving family at her side.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at 9:00 AM at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Davenport. A Funeral Mass will follow at 10:00 AM. Burial will take place immediately after the service at Rock Island National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Vistas at Bettendorf Activity Department.
Born on May 21, 1939, in Iowa City, Iowa, Margaret was the daughter of Wesley and Ruth (Scott) Roush. She married the love of her life, Roger Eisenbacher, on December 20, 1958, at Sacred Heart Cathedral. Together, they were blessed with six children.
Margaret dedicated the early years of her life to creating a loving home for her family. She was deeply involved in her children’s activities, enthusiastically supporting Cub Scouts and volunteering with the baseball and softball teams they played on.
As her children grew, Margaret channeled her passion for caregiving into her community, dedicating 34 years to the Good Samaritan Nursing Home. Her versatility and work ethic shone through her many roles there, serving as a nurse’s aide, activities director, secretary of nursing, and receptionist. She remained active in the facility's community outside of work, volunteering at golf outings and even playing on the Good Samaritan softball team.
A woman of deep faith and community spirit, Margaret was an active member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church. She sang with the St. Alphonsus Choir and the Centennial Choir and was a devoted member of the Altar & Rosary Society. She also served her community through the Women’s Auxiliary at the VFW. Margaret gave of her time freely and was always the first to volunteer whenever help was needed.
Margaret possessed a creative spirit and a green thumb. She loved to paint and draw, and she poured her heart into gardening. Her green thumb turned into a local venture, as she proudly sold her homegrown produce through Tomato Patch LLC. She was also an avid baseball fan, holding a lifelong love for the Dodgers, especially fond of her memories of them back in Brooklyn.
She is survived by her children, David (Lynnette) Eisenbacher, Katherine (Jeffrey) Crain, Sally Eisenbacher, John (Lois) Eisenbacher, and Eric (Kimberly) Eisenbacher; her daughter-in-law, Debra Eisenbacher; 10 cherished grandchildren; 12 adored great-grandchildren; and her brother, Edward (Roberta) Roush.
Margaret was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Roger; her son, Michael Eisenbacher; her parents, Wesley and Ruth; and her sister, Sally Hahn.
