Maeola Wyatt

April 7, 1956 — May 20, 2023

Davenport, Iowa

Maeola Wyatt, age 67, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday May 20, 2023, at Genesis Medical-Center-East Campus in Davenport, IA surrounded by her family. She was a beloved mother, dedicated friend, and cherished member of her community, leaving behind a legacy of love and compassion.

Born on April 7, 1956, in Wider, Arkansas, to the late Gladys M. and Roosevelt Watson. Maeola and her siblings moved to Davenport, IA in 1972 where she attended J.B Young Jr. High, and Central High School. She later pursued her diploma as a CNA at Job Corp in St. Louis, MO.

In 1975, Maeola accepted the Lord as her Lord and Savior. She found solace and strength in her faith and became an active member of her church community. Her commitment to serving others was evident as she joyfully contributed to her church, lending a helping hand to those in need, particularly children. She passionately served as a Praise Team Worshipper, sharing her beautiful voice and working with the Sunday School Department.

Family was at the core of Maeola's life. In 1978 Maeola met Timothy Wyatt and to this union they created a loving home and raised their four children: Timothy Jr., Benjamin, Joshua, and Naomi. Her children were the light of her life, and she poured her love and wisdom into their lives, nurturing them into the wonderful individuals they have become.

Nature held a special place in Maeola’s heart. She found solace and peace in the great outdoors, often spending her days fishing and gardening. Her love for nature was rooted in her childhood memories of Arkansas, a place she always held dear to her heart. She also enjoyed sewing and traveling.

Maeola Wyatt will forever be remembered for her infectious laughter, her warm and caring nature, and her unwavering love for her family. She leaves behind a legacy of joy, compassion, and faith that will continue to inspire all those who had the privilege of knowing her.

As we bid farewell to Maeola, let us celebrate her remarkable life and the beautiful memories she has left behind. May her soul find eternal peace, and may her family and friends find solace in the knowledge that she will forever be watching over them.
