Lou was born on January 31, 1947 in Bellevue, Iowa, son of Marvin and Ardele (Brooke) Oberman. He was united in marriage to Cora Egbert on July 30, 1966.
Lou was a Vietnam veteran and was an Army Sergeant in Co A, 1st Bn, 5th (Mech) Inf, 25th Inf Div. He was awarded two purple hearts and a bronze star during his time with the military. Lou was the rock of the family, the provider, and had a very giving nature. He enjoyed hunting and shooting and was a member of the Square Shooters. He always kept busy and was able to fix anything! From cars to building on to his home, he could do it all. He also found joy in going to auctions, antiques and camping. Lou was a great cook and would often grill food for others. Above all he loved his family and his dog Simba. He was the best grandpa and will be deeply missed.
Those left to honor his memory include his wife Cora; children Angela Kivlin and Melissa Oberman; grandchildren Allison (Stephen) Arvanis, Katelynn (Joe) Smith and Rachel Cottrell; great grandchildren Eisley, Ezra, Rose, Maggie, Miriam Cooper, Thomas and Elliott; and siblings Kenny Oberman, Barb Mussman and Carl (Joyce) Oberman.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister-in-law Charlene.
