Lori M. Bankson was born December 28, 1960, in Davenport, to Marvin and Loretta (Huber) Bankson. She graduated from Davenport West High School in 1979, and the former Stewart’s School of Hair Styling.

Doing hair wasn’t just a job to her, it was a joy. She spent 43 years behind the chair, and for 20 of those years proudly owned her salon, After Image. She loved nothing more than visiting with her clients, catching up on their lives, and making them feel special. Many of them became lifelong friends.

On September 26, 1981, she married Bradley Hambright, her high school sweetheart in Davenport. The two built a life full of laughter, love, and the kind of partnership everyone hopes for. Together they raised a family that meant absolutely everything to her. Her children and grandchildren were her world, and she rarely missed a chance to brag about them. She also adored her in-laws and counted them as true family; the love was mutual in every way.

At home, she created beauty in more ways than one. She loved working in her yard and flower gardens, always tending to something blooming. Decorating her home was another passion, every room had her touch. She enjoyed playing cards, golfing (proud founding member of the Duck Creek Dames), traveling, taking vacations, and sneaking away for the occasional casino trip just for fun.

Most of all, she will be remembered for her warmth, her easy laughter, her kindness, and the way she made everyone feel welcome. She gave so much of herself to the people she loved, and her absence leaves a space that can never be filled. Those who knew her were truly lucky, and her memory will be carried forward in all the lives she touched.

Survivors include her husband Brad; children Gideon (Katie) Hambright of Des Moines, Rachael (Steve Schumacher) of Davenport, Noah (Ashley White) Hambright of Sterling, IL; grandchildren Leo Schumacher, Rhea Schumacher, Robley Hambright, June Hambright, Aubri Nares; brother Robert Bankson of Los Angeles; sisters Renae (Todd) Renihan of Vernon Hills, IL, Marla Brewer of Davenport; and many loving nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Trina Bankson, brothers Ronald and Randall Bankson, and nephew Nicholas Brewer.
