Linda Kay Nickles, age 77, of Davenport passed away on April 25, 2026 at Harmony Utica Ridge, Davenport. She was born on February 17, 1949, in Davenport, Iowa to William and Mary (Spiess) Nickles. She is survived by her nephews Matt (wife Kelly and daughters BreyAnne (Ethan) and KaitLynne (Jordan)), Mark (wife Amanda and sons Wade, Emmett, and Max), and Zachary (wife Samantha and daughter Aubrey), sister-in-law Susan Nickles, cousin Janet (whom she had a lifelong bond), and a large extended family.
She was preceded in death by two infant sisters (Patricia and Joan), her parents, her brother Rick, and many furry friends.
Linda retired from Mid-American Energy after 25 years of dedicated service.
Linda's tenacious, fighting spirit guided her through many challenges in her life including many health related. She survived a liver and kidney transplant in 2006 followed by subsequent health related obstacles, but she pushed on through life.
Linda had a strong love for her family. She had a compassionate soul for those less fortunate or struggling. She was an avid gardener of flowers and vegetables; tomatoes were her specialty. Her creative nature showed through her multiple crafting skills and projects. For many years she oversaw and was the primary contributor of many crafts to St. Mary's annual bazaar.
Her feisty spirit and laughter will truly be missed.
Services for Linda will be held on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 417 N. Main Street, Davenport with visitation beginning at 9 a.m. until Mass begins at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Holy Family Cemetery, Davenport.
