A Mass of Christian Burial for Elizabeth “Libby” Meade, 77, a resident of Blue Grass, will be 10 a.m. Saturday, November 18, 2017 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, 417 Main Street, Davenport. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Davenport. Visitation will be Friday from 4 until 7 p.m. with a prayer service at 4 p.m. at Halligan McCabe DeVries Funeral Home, 614 Main Street, Davenport. Libby passed away Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at Genesis East, Davenport.

Libby was born February 11, 1940 in Bloomington, Illinois, daughter of Jack and Madeline (Seammen) Andrews and step-father, Frank Bear.

Libby had worked for Wonder Bread where she met Kenneth Meade. They were married June 10, 1975 in Cambridge, Illinois.

She had been a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Buffalo and was a longtime member of St. Anthony’s where she was baptized as a young woman.

Libby was completely devoted to her family, lovingly hosting family gatherings and monthly birthday dinners. She truly enjoyed caring for them. She was an avid reader of paperback books. Libby’s caring nature also brought many stray cats and animals to their home!

Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.

Survivors include her husband Kenneth; children, Bryan (Geri) Siegfried, Buffalo, Iowa, Rick (Judy) Siegfried, East Moline, Joseph (Tina) Garcia, Rock Island, Connie (Bill) Yale, S. Lake Tahoe, Calif., Kenneth (Roxane) Meade, Long Beach, Calif., Brian Meade, Tecumseh, Nebraska; 14 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren, and a cousin/more like a sister, Christee Smith, St. Augustine, Florida.

She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Carol Garcia, parents, step-father and a brother, Jack. May they rest in peace.
