Larry Harris

Larry Dell Harris, 72, of Davenport passed away, Tuesday, December 9, 2025 at his home.

Memorial services will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, December 22, 2025 at Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home. Burial will be in the National Cemetery, Rock Island Arsenal. Memorials may be made to the family.

Larry was born on June 3, 1953 in Dewit, Arkansas, son of Charleston and Leora (Fitzpatrick) Harris. He was united in marriage to Venita Legier.

Larry moved to St. Louis during his childhood and graduated from Soldan High School. He later came to the Quad Cities and worked as a welder for John Deere and Sears Manufacturing. He also kept busy doing odd jobs. Larry loved fishing, shooting pool and working on cars. He was a good husband and father and will be deeply missed.

Those left to honor his memory include his wife Venita; children Corinne Atimbaneme and Amber (Terrez) Glover; grandchildren Taj Brickmore, Mario, Kevin, Regina, Jaleesa, Zaila, Miles, Alexa and T.J.; and siblings Patricia Jones, Felton (Sharon) Harris, Gerry Harris, Marilyn (Charles) Shorter, Debra (Ken) Henry, Robert (Robbie) Harris and Karen Coleman.

He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Larece Trimble, and siblings Helen Hearns, Ray Harris, Danny Harris and Steve Harris.
