Kerry Beyer

Kerry John Beyer, of Davenport, Iowa, passed away on February 23, 2026 surrounded by the love of his family.

Funeral services and Mass of Christian Burial for Kerry will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 3, 2026 at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 4097 – 18th Street, Bettendorf. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Davenport. Visitation will be held from 4 until 6 p.m. Monday at the Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, Davenport. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the St. Joan of Arc Foundation (New Bettendorf Catholic School) or Hand-in-Hand.

Kerry was born on August 5, 1956 in Moline, a son of John M. “Jack” and Eloise M. (Coughlin) Beyer. He graduated from Assumption High School and attended St. Ambrose University before starting his professional life leading Beyer & Company Investments, the brokerage firm his grandfather founded. He carried on the family legacy with dedication, integrity, and a deep commitment to his clients. In the last four years of his career, he brought his decades of expertise to Morgan Stanley, where, with the help of Trevor Fennelly, he continued serving clients with the same passion, intensity, and work ethic that defined his life. 

Outside of work, Kerry proudly referred to himself as the “winningest little league coach in Iowa.” Whether or not the record books confirm it, his players and their families knew his competitive spirit, larger-than-life personality, and belief in his teams made him unforgettable. He was a lifelong Chicago Cubs fan who celebrated every win as if he were on the roster himself.

Kerry loved adventure—especially when it meant time with family. From magical trips to Disney to unforgettable journeys to Jackson Hole, he made sure everyone was spoiled and every memory was special. He believed life was meant to be lived fully, loudly, and together. 

Passionate and outspoken, Kerry never shied away from saying what was on his mind. His spirited nature even once earned him a ban from a local Maid-Rite—but those who knew him best understood that behind the bold voice was a huge and generous heart. Kerry quietly helped many people in need, often without recognition or fanfare. 

His favorite saying summed up his heart perfectly: “CWAGA — Can’t We All Get Along.” Beneath the competitive fire and booming voice was a man who truly wanted peace, fairness, and goodwill for everyone. 

Kerry will be remembered for his fierce loyalty, his humor, his competitive edge, and the deep love he had for his family. His presence was unmistakable, his impact lasting, and his absence will be deeply felt by all who knew and loved him.

Kerry is survived by his loving sisters: Laura Sandoval, Amy Phillips, Wendy (Jim) Smith, Linda “Kiki” (Todd) Hopkins, and Jacki “Bubby” (John) Mravinac. He was a proud and devoted brother, and nothing meant more to him than his sisters and his nieces and nephews, who brought him endless joy.

He was preceded in death by his parents. May they all rest in eternal peace.
