Kathleen Adele Veith

Kathleen “Kathy” Adele Veith (Jager), 73, of Davenport, passed away peacefully on August 18, 2026. Visitation will be held from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Monday, August 24, 2026, at the Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 am on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at Holy Family Catholic Church, Davenport. Keeping with Kathy’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Memorials may be made to All Saints Catholic School.

Kathy was born on October 10, 1952, in Davenport, IA to Kenneth and Lois (Meumann) Jager. She was married in 1992 to Daniel Veith. Kathy was a loving wife, mother, and friend. She began her teaching career at St. Alphonsus School and taught first grade for over 40 years at All Saints Catholic School (formerly Holy Family Catholic School). She consistently had former students reach out to tell her how big of an impact she had on their lives. Kathy adored teaching.

She had a great love for spending time with family and friends, music, coffee dates, and the holidays. She loved being a mom and was elated when she became a grandmother. Kathy will be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

She is survived by her husband, Dan Veith, children, Joseph (Brittnee) Veith and Molly (James) Allison, stepsons, Austin Veith and Jake (Kaitlyn) Veith, brother, Tom (Linda) Jager, brother-in-law, Kurt (Jill) Matherly, sister-in-law, Kathryn Veith, niece, Amanda Jager, nephews, Mathew Jager and David Jager, and granddaughters, Vivian and Sadie.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Lois Jager, father, Kenneth Jager, and sisters, Julie Matherly and Susan Jager.
