Kathleen Murphy

Funeral Services and a Mass of Christian Burial for Kathleen F. Murphy, 78, a resident of Davenport, will be 11:00 am Saturday, January 6, 2018 at St Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 916 E. Rusholme Street, Davenport. The family will greet friends Friday from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at the Halligan McCabe DeVries Funeral Home, 614 Main Street, downtown Davenport. There will be a family-led Rosary at 6:00 pm. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Davenport. There will be additional visitation Saturday from 10:00 – 11:00 am at the church.

Kathleen died Tuesday, January 2, 2018 in Davenport at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Bridget Murphy. She was surrounded by her family and passed away peacefully following declining health.

Kathleen Frances McNulty was born August 16, 1939 in Chicago, a daughter of Thomas Patrick and Margaret Brendan (McCann) McNulty. She was united in marriage to John Leo Murphy on September 11, 1965 in Chicago. They have been blessed with over 52-years of marriage.

Kathleen loved her family and especially cherished the time she spent with her children and grandchildren. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend.

Memorials may be made to St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church.

Those left to honor her memory include her husband, John, and their children: Margaret Murphy Naperville, Maureen (Steve) Marshall, Eldridge and Kevin (Bridget) Murphy, Davenport; numerous loving grandchildren; a sister, Mary “Marian” (Charles “Paschal”) Roche, Chicago; as well as the extended Murphy family and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a son, Brian P. Murphy, and a granddaughter, Grace S. Marshall. May they rest in peace.
