Kathleen A. "Kathy" Knickrehm

A Memorial Mass for Kathleen “Kathy” Annette (Hart) Knickrehm will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 14, 2025 at Sacred Heart Cathedral, Davenport. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Davenport. Visitation will be held Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass in the gathering space at church. Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Memory Care/GardenView, Calvin Community Assisted Living, 4210 Hickman Rd. Des Moines, Iowa 50310. Please include Kathy’s name and add “Memory Care” in the memo section of the check.

Kathleen Annette Hart was born on February 10th, 1936 in Davenport, Iowa and passed on June 4th, 2025. She was the daughter of Edward E. Hart and Margaret B. (Fischlein) Hart.

Kathy graduated from Sacred Heart Cathedral grade school in 1949 and graduated from Immaculate Conception Academy (ICA) in 1953. She was united in marriage to Robert J. Knickrehm on June 26th, 1954 at Sacred Heart Cathedral. He preceded her in death May 7th, 2003.

In her early years, Kathy was a dental assistant. Her greatest joys were her family, home, gardening, crafts and antique shows along with having many friends. She attended bridge club with life-long friends for more than 50 years and was a lifelong member of the Sacred Heart Cathedral Altar and Rosary Society (AKA the Cork Hill Gang).

Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law: Michael and Debie Knickrehm, Kevin and Julie Knickrehm, Robert T. Knickrehm and Barb Boldt, Daniel and Roxanne Knickrehm. Daughters and sons-in-law include: Mary Christine (Chris) and Joe Merfeld, Sandra and Todd Kludy, and sister-laws Dorothy Knickrehm and Dot Knickrehm and special cousin Mary Flaherty.

Kathy was preceded in death by her parents and sisters Sheila Claire Hart, Marieta (Hart) Jacobs, brother-in-law Richard Jacobs, special cousin Patricia Barron and her Knickrehm brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws.
