Karen C. Holmes

Karen C. Holmes, 52, of Walcott, died Thursday, March 12, 2026, at MercyOne-Genesis Medical Center, Davenport. Keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place, and a celebration of her life will take place later in the Spring of 2026. Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Karen was born on January 16, 1974, in Davenport, a daughter of Timothy L. and Linda C. (Baldwin) Holmes.

Karen loved children, she spent her adult life caring and watching her nieces and nephews and great-nephews and great-nieces. She enjoyed watching paranormal activity shows and collecting Native American memorabilia. Karen also enjoyed listening to music and was a proud dog mom to Bear and Blue.

Those left to honor her memory are her siblings: Kim Cook, Walcott, Jason (Darcy) Holmes, Wheatland, Shelly (Adam) Sowells, Buffalo; nieces and nephews, Jessica (Dustin) Kostman, Jacob (Amanda) Cook, Melanie (Will) Kruse, Mackenzie Holmes-Boos, and Robert Sowells; great nieces and nephews Dakota Cook, Mason and Noah Kruse, Grace Cook, Lincoln Kostman, Mia Kruse, Aubri Newberry, Kinsley Cook, and Nicholas Holmes-Smith; and a dear cousin, Jennifer Bruce and her extended family.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
