Julia "Julie" Ann Williams

Julia A. “Julie” Williams, 88, of Bettendorf, died Thursday, July 23, 2026, at The Kahl Home, Davenport. Visitation will be held on Friday, July 31, 2026, from 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm at St. Albans Episcopal Church, Davenport. Funeral services will take place following the visitation at 2:00 pm. Burial will follow the funeral service at Davenport Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to St. Albans Episcopal Church.

Julie Ann Williams was born on March 23, 1938, in Sibley, Iowa, the daughter of Edward and Emma (Minor) Sweeney. She graduated from Sibley High School with the class of 1956. She then went on to St. Joseph Mercy, Souix City, and graduated in 1959 with a nursing degree. After working as a registered nurse for 15 years, she obtained an accounting degree. With this accounting degree, she was hired at Brown and Anderson. Soon after, she began working as a building manager at Colona House, her favorite job.

She was united in marriage to Kent Williams on February 14, 1981, in Davenport. Together, they shared over 45 years. She was his princess through and through.

Julie had a knack for sewing. She was a talented seamstress. She enjoyed crafting in her craft room, where you could find her knitting, crocheting, and quilting. Kent and Julie vacationed in Panama City Beach for the last 25 years, and Julie would knit the entire way there in the car, making sure to perfect her work.

Julie was a devoted member at St Albans; she was a reader, chalice bearer, a member of the altar guild, on the Vestry, and involved in the MDT.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Kent Williams; son, Brent Early (Sandra); stepson, Greg (Starla) Williams; ten grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren; brothers, Mike Sweeney and James (Mary Ann) Sweeney; sister, Ruth (George) Wattonville; daughters-in-law, Trina Early and Lisa Early.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sons, Brad Early and Blair Early; stepson, Mitch Williams; brother, Eddie Sweeney; and sister-in-law, Connie Sweeney.
