Joyce A. Kerker

Funeral services to celebrate the life of Joyce A. Kerker, 90, a resident of Davenport will be 12:00 p.m. Friday, December 12, 2025 at the Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home. Visitation will be Friday from 10:00 until 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Private family burial will take place in the National Cemetery, Rock Island Arsenal. Joyce died Wednesday, December 10, 2025 at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House with her family by her side.

Joyce Alberta Mueller was born on March 27, 1935 in Davenport, a daughter of Herbert and Martha (Wendt) Mueller. She was united in marriage to Richard James Kerker on November 14, 1959 at Sacred Heart Cathedral, Davenport. They celebrated their 50-year anniversary shortly before Dick’s passing on December 26, 2009.

Joyce worked for thirty-five years doing clerical work at the Rock Island Arsenal. She retired in 1996.

She was a longtime member of Holy Family Catholic Church, Elks, Northwest Turner Hall, and the Eagles Club.

Joyce along with Dick cherished the thirteen winters they were able to spend in Hawaii. She loved playing euchre, enjoying regular games with friends at C.A.S.I. and at Harlans. An ideal day would be spent playing euchre along with a cold beer. Joyce also cherished time spent with her family.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House or C.A.S.I.

Those left to honor her memory are her daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Paul Weiman; a grandson, Troy Weiman (Emily Styvaert), all of Davenport; as well as nieces and nephews and their spouses.

In addition to her husband, Dick, Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, a sister and brother-in-law, Maxine and Harold Lundquist and a son-in-law, Tim Blumer. May they rest in peace.
