Joyce M. Baustian

Funeral services to celebrate the life of Joyce M. Baustian, 95, of Davenport, will be 1 p.m. Thursday, June 5, 2025 at the Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, Davenport. Burial will be in Oakdale Memorial Gardens, Davenport. Visitation will be held Thursday from 12 p.m. until the time of the service at the Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, Davenport. Memorials may be made to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation or Empowering Abilities.

Mrs. Baustian died Saturday, May 31, 2025 at Jersey Ridge Place, Davenport.

Joyce Marilyn Baustian was born on June 4, 1929 in Rural Scott County Iowa, a daughter of Edward and Frances (Lamp) Elmegreen. She was a 1947 graduate from Davenport High School. Joyce was united in marriage to Robert C. Baustian on June 22, 1947 at St. Paul Lutheran Church. He preceded her in death on May 27, 2011 following over 63 years of marriage.

Joyce enjoyed gardening, playing bridge, reading, and completing crossword puzzles.

Those left to honor her memory are her children: Stephen (Pamela) Baustian, Sycamore, Illinois, Beverlie Bergert, Bettendorf, James (Patrice) Baustian, Davenport, and Thomas (Elizabeth) Baustian, West Des Moines, Iowa; eleven grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren; and seven great-great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, Joyce was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Gary Bergert, a grandson, David Bergert; her parents, and siblings, Keith and Dana Elmegreen and Ethel Kreiter.

The Baustian family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Jersey Ridge Place for all of the wonderful care shown to Joyce.
