Joseph Ybarra

Joseph Ybarra, 86, of Davenport, passed away Tuesday, July 14, 2026 at his home.

Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am, Wednesday, July 22, 2026 at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Davenport. Memorials may be made to the family. Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Joseph was born on November 8, 1939 in Davenport, Iowa, son of Raphael and Jesse (Avila) Ybarra.

Joseph had a knack for sewing and landscaping and enjoyed his flower garden around his gazebo. He was a jokester and a Harley Davidson fanatic. He was very friendly and people would warm up to him quickly, enjoying the stories he had to share. Joseph was a faithful man and would attend mass at St. Anthony Catholic Church. Above all he loved his family and his friends and cherished the time he spent with them.

Joseph is survived by his children Kirk Ybarra, Scott Ybarra, Mark Ybarra, Marion Ybarra, Rick Ybarra, Anthony Ybarra and Rita Nelson; grandchildren Christoper Rollins, Cindy Rollins, Wesley Ybarra and Raymond Ybarra; siblings Josephine Ybarra and Jesse Lamanti; godson Chuck Mendez; and best friends Bill G. and Bill L.

He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings Juanita, Lupe, Frankie, Velma, Alexander, Anthony, Margaret and Mark.
