Joseph L. Hasson

Funeral services and Mass of Christian Burial for Joseph L. “Joe” Hasson, 73, of Bettendorf, will be held at 10am on Thursday, August 31, 2023, at Holy Family Catholic Church, Davenport.  Burial will be in Holy Family Cemetery, Davenport.  Visitation will be 4-7pm Wednesday at the Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, Davenport.  Memorials may be made to the church or Knights of Columbus.

Mr. Hasson passed away Saturday, August 26, 2023, at Genesis East, Davenport.

Joseph Lawrence Hasson was born July 11, 1950, in Davenport, a son of Floyd and Elizabeth “Lorraine” (Ward) Hasson, and was a graduate of West High School, class of 1968. He was united in marriage to Mary Weiland on May 4, 1991, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Davenport.

Joe had been a diesel mechanic for the Rock Island Railroad and later a maintenance mechanic for Kraft-Oscar Mayer when he retired in March of 2011.

He enjoyed fishing, stock car races, watching his grandson and great grandson play sports, bowling, trivia, and following the St. Louis Cardinals.  He was a 4^th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus.

Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Mary; daughters Barbara (Greg Peters) Hasson, Rebecca (Dan) McGlasson all of Davenport; grandchildren Kayla, Danielle, Shelby and Daniel McGlasson Jr; and great grandson Ryan.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother James, and in-laws Anthony “Tony” and Phyllis Weiland.
