Joseph Dietz

Joseph C. “Joey” Dietz, 19, a resident of Davenport, passed away unexpectedly, Monday, December 18, 2017.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial for Joey will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 23, 2017 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 1506 Brown Street, Bettendorf. Honoring his wishes, he will be buried with his father in St. James Cemetery in Toronto, Iowa. His family will greet friends Friday from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Halligan McCabe DeVries Funeral Home, 614 Main Street, downtown Davenport, where there will be a prayer service for Joey at 5:30 p.m. There will be additional visitation at church Saturday from 9:00 until the mass time.

Joseph Conrad Dietz was born June 5, 1998 in Davenport, Iowa to Jeffrey Joseph and Jane (Wisor) Lorenzen-Dietz. Joey graduated from Bettendorf High School in 2017. He was employed at River Cities Engineering as an electrician apprentice. He was a devoted and loving son, brother, uncle, and friend. Joey had a heart of gold, and would do anything and everything to help others. His hobbies included baseball, wrestling, and enjoyed hands-on activities. He loved being with his many friends and will be missed by all those that knew him.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the family.

Those left to honor his memory include his mother Jane, of Davenport his siblings; Chris (Kristie) Lorenzen, Bettendorf, Audra (Chris) Sieverding, Davenport, and Katie Dietz, Walcott; grandparents, Bernadette Wisor, Davenport, Gregg and Marcia Dietz, Davenport; nieces and nephews, Christian, Max and Maya Lorenzen, and Bayleigh and Brynnley Sieverding.

He was preceded in death by his father, grandfather Joseph Wisor, and his brother Johnny. May they rest in peace.
