Jose Ramirez

Jose (Joe) “Peck” Ramirez was born August 27, 1935 in Davenport and fell asleep in death on Thursday, December 3, 2020 in the loving care of Genesis East doctors and nurses with family by his side.  There are no services at this time.  A Celebration of Life and interment at National Cemetery, Rock Island, Illinois, will take place at a later date.  Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Joe is preceded in death by his parents: Ycidro and Maria (Perez) Ramirez; brothers:  Gregory, Jesse, John and George Ramirez; sister:  Rosa Vorhauer and son: Gary “Jose” Seymour.

He is survived by his wife:  Myrtle; children:  Michael & Rick Seymour, Patrice Semegran, Donita Hillfinger, Michael, Katrina (Reese), Jose Ramirez and son by choice: Jonathan Ramirez; 12 grandchildren and countless great-grandchildren; siblings:  Alcadio Ramirez; Lupe (Sharon) Ramirez, Celia Rangel and Aurora Schroder.

Joe worked at Red Jacket Pumps for 35 years as a machine operator and in pump repair.  He served in the U.S. Marine Corps for 3 years.  Joe was a kind and gentle person who was greatly loved and will be dearly missed.
