Obituary

John Vaughn, 75 of Bettendorf, Iowa, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 24, 2026, after an extended illness. John’s daughter, Katie spent John’s last days by his bedside while Vicki was healing from her own surgery in the hospital.

John Wayne Vaughn was born to his parents, Jessie and Agnes Vaughn on June 20,1950. John and his four sisters were raised in Texas. John proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. He bravely served during the Vietnam War. John became the happy father of two sons and two daughters.

John and Vicki met several years ago and thoroughly enjoyed the time they spent together. Their favorite thing to do was riding their Harleys together. John and Vicki enjoyed watching TV and movies. You could always find John and Vicki cheering for his beloved Dallas Cowboys from the couch on Sundays. He and Vicki Martinez were united in marriage on November 12, 2025.

John had a love for Harley Davidson motorcycles and had been riding Harleys for years. He loved his motorcycle trips to Clinton. He was a hard worker and always kept busy. He enjoyed woodworking and drawing. John enjoyed collecting Eagles, Harley Davidson t-shirts and loved his Pepsi.

John was preceded in death by his parents, Jessie and Agnes Vaughn.

Those left to cherish and honor John’s memory include his wife, Vicki; children, Wendy Tefren; Travis Vaughn; Rusty Vaughn; and Katie Shady; many grandchildren and John’s sisters, Linda; Tricia; Rita; and Jan.
