John H. Thomas, 51, of Davenport, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, December 28, 2021, at his residence. A graveside service for John’s life will be 10:00 a.m. Monday January 3, 2022, at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Davenport, where he will be laid to rest with his mother and a celebration of life will be held at Eagle’s Club in Rock Island Monday January 3rd, 2022 from 5:00pm-8:00pm. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to his family.
John Harlan Thomas was born October 19, 1970, in Davenport, Iowa, to Michael and Harriet (Bruegmann) Thomas. On September 4, 1999, John was united in marriage to Deborah Todd in Rock Island. He had been an owner and operator as an independent over the road truck driver for twenty plus years. John had also been a member of Eagles Club in Rock Island.
John enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, listening to music, getting Whiteys ice cream with his kids, trying new foods and playing with his beloved pets (Scooby, Hank, Lady, Eva, Fatso and Puffy).
Those left to honor his memory include his wife Deborah and their children: Heidi Fluegel, Rock Island, Matthew (Jazmine) Thomas, and Karmella Thomas, all of Davenport, and Luke Thomas, Cambridge, Illinois; his grandchildren: Khloe Fluegel, Gracie Koester, Layla Parga, Aedyn Thomas and Alakay Thomas; his siblings: Virginia Thomas, and James (Jamie) Thomas, all of Davenport; Aunt, Amy (Donald) Jones, all of Davenport; Uncle, Robin (Rita) Bruegmann, Brownstown, Indiana; as well as numerous loving nieces, nephews, and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his Mother, Harriet Thomas; Father, Michael Thomas; Uncle Gary Bruegmann; and his beloved labs, Scooby and Hank.
