John “Jack” Marinan III, age 85 of Buford, Georgia passed away on Wednesday, June 17, 2026. 

He is survived by his wife of sixty-one years, Janice (Kies) Marinan; sons, John Joseph Marinan, IV of Woodstock, Georgia and Joel Reed (Nathan) Marinan of West Allis, Wisconsin; sister, Mary Jo (Jerry) Merry of Davenport, Iowa; and brother, Stephen (Cindy) Marinan of Davenport, Iowa.

Mr. Marinan was born on October 19, 1940 in South Bend, Indiana, and was a 5-year veteran of the U.S. Air Force.  He graduated in 1958 from St. Ambrose Academy and in 1963 with a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Louisville, Kentucky. He  retired after thirty years as Sales Manager for Unilever Company.

Mr. Marinan was a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church and a member of Knights of Columbus. He loved all sports.

Private graveside services will be held at Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Davenport.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Vincent de Paul (c/o Prince of Peace Catholic Church) in memory of John “Jack” Marinan, III.
