J.D. Holland

Memorial services to celebrate the life of John “JD” Holland, 23, of McCausland, IA, will be held at Noon on Friday, April 26, 2024, at the Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, Davenport.  The family will receive friends from 10am until the time of services on Friday.  Memorials may be made to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP).

Mr. Holland passed away Saturday, April 20, 2024, at Genesis East, Davenport.

John David Holland was born September 7, 2000, in Rock Island, the son of Brian and Kelly (Monnier) Holland.  Following graduation from Sherrard High School in 2021, he became a union sheet metal worker for Johnson Contracting Company, East Moline.

JD enjoyed fishing, hunting, the outdoors, and gaming.  His Toyota Camry was his pride and joy, and he took great care of it.  He was dedicated to his work and his family, and his sense of humor will be missed by all that knew him.

Those left to honor his memory include his father Brian (Kristie) Holland; mother Kelly (Jeremiah) Jones; sisters Delaney Jones, Caitlin (fiancé Kody Harrison) Holland; grandmother Ann Roberts; bonus grandma “Udo”; step siblings Cole Padavich, Kayla Padavich, Ben Bruner;  aunts Jackie and Dana Holland, Tammy Monnier; uncles David (Betty) Vergane, Todd (Marilyn) Monnier; niece and nephews Madelynn, Bryson, and Remingtynn Harrison; and many loving cousins.

He was preceded in death by grandparents Jack Holland and Barb and Jack Monnier.
