John Thomas Callahan

John Thomas Callahan, age 74, of Davenport, passed away on Friday, February 17, 2023 at his home. Private graveside services will be held at the National Cemetery, Rock Island with military honors.

John was born on October 14, 1948 in Davenport to Barney and Julia (Kane) Callahan. After graduation from Davenport High School, he was drafted by the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. After honorable discharge, he worked at the flour mill, and later with Sears Manufacturing. He was a member of the Davenport American Legion Post #26.

Survivors include his siblings, Charles Callahan, Denny Callahan, Mary Ann Kent, Bernadine (Dick) Lillyblade, and Jane (Steve) Palmer; as well as many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Bill.
